Hey, maybe you two should get together and do some tradin'!

You'd both come away happy.
Hm, maybe! OP, you have a G21, G30 or G26?
Actually that comment about getting rid of my Glocks was made tongue in cheek. I don't have a G21 but have a 30 and 36. Heck, I even have a 29 for the serious stuff. I really like Glock (maybe not the gen 4's) but always wanted a 1911.

Re: Getting the Itch (again)

I appreciate every ones input in helping me out on my first 1911 (maybe not my last) purchase. Looks like it is going to be the Kimber Custom II which is the one I handled the other day and liked because it felt real solid and very tight and the guy who owned it had not one complaint about it. Actually field stripped and cleaned it after my wife shot it last week. The fellow who is getting it for me said all his wholesalers are out of it right now but he will be checking every week or so. He is getting it for me for $673 + tax. Heck, who knows, maybe I will be getting rid of my Glocks and get a few more 1911's in the future.

Getting the Itch (again)

Yesterday I had the opportunity to handle (not shoot) a full size about 12 year old Kimber 1911 and I was impressed. The thing was really tight but real smooth and slim (I shoot Glocks). The owner said he shoots it quite a bit and he has never had a problem with it and has never had to change any springs or anything. Well, I gotta have one now.

I am going to do some research but I thought I would check here first for any recommendations in the 600-1000 dollar or so range for an all steel full size basic 1911.

Stan
