Re: MTAC holster

i just a coulple of weeks, if you wear it every day for 6-8 hours a day, the leather will conform to your body quite nicely, and even after that it will conform more as well.
I wear mine at 3:30.
When i got mine, it was horrible (in my mind). Felt very weird, uncomfortable and just all around strange.
But I was going to carry a weapon and knew that I had to get used to it, and that all things new, would be strange.
So I carried. Just dealt with the scratching of my side, dealt with it feeling uncomfortable, and read more on this forum on what to do.
In 2 weeks or so, I basically forgot I was wearing it (even in a car) and all has been good ever since. Then I got a Crossbreed belt and it got even better.... so you are a step ahead of me on that one.

This is how I put my holster on:
Put my pants on, leave the button unbuttoned, along with the zipper down. (if you are using C or J clips (as opposed to Velcro clips), put your belt on. --- I use Velcro Clips, so holster goes on first, then the belt)
Put the holster (without gun in it) about 3:30 and then zip and button up the pants.
I can slide the holster back or front a bit unless the belt loops get in the way, then I have to unzip and unbutton, and pull it off, and put it back on around the belt loops.
Give it time, it gets better

Re: MTAC holster

Droshi wrote:Does anyone use the V-Clips on these?
i use V-clips on my MTAC with my Springfield XD9sc.
I have however put my Brother-In-Laws XDm 4.5 in the same holster, and the V-clips hold very well with that weapon and 19 round mag
I do however also use a Crossbreed Gun-belt with the Velcro they applied (stitched in?) at time of order.

When I first started carrying, I used the C-clips and kept hitting my fingers on the clips and it drove me nuts, so I had to find a better alternative.
So now, not only do I not keep nicking my fingers, people do not see the C-clips over the top of the belt either :thumbs2:
