Oh, oh...there is a thread on that very subject that you might want to peruse. Just saying.
Do you have a link to the thread? Probably to late as i just ordered a Super Tuck for it and i also ordered a Snap slide from Crossbreed for my Glock 33 (.357 sig) i might carry it sometimes too.
That thing is a flame thrower.... :fire
No, I am too lazy to search. But the general consensus that I got from it is that it is a Bozo-No-No.
Do you mean No No on the small of the back...if so i did ask Crossbreed about that and he said none of there holsters are designed for Mid of back carry.
I actually played around with it and i think with the right tilt i can Appendage carry about 2 oclock.I carry my cell pone holster on my belt there also so the buldge from that will help camoflauge the gun. Will see.

I couldn't help noticing in your disassembly picture that you used the wire like takedown tool provided with the gun for disassembly. In case you weren't aware I thought that I would mention this guy's Ultra tool - http://www.1911ultratool.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

His device perfectly alines the the slide stop with the disassembly notch making field stripping a breeze, something that the Kimber tool doesn't do. I have a Kimber Ultra CDP and can testify that the thing really works. FYI - I have no connection with the guy who makes these.
Thanks for the link :tiphat: - I watched the video and am definitly going to order one of these tools. That little hex key that came with the gun is a real pain.

I have the same weapon. Got it in December last year, and has been 100% reliable. I have about 1000 rounds through it, and have had no failures at all! I am going to send my slide to Kimber for night sights soon. The laser is cool, but I do not like the black sights on them. I cant see them in low light conditions.
I agree with the sights - I am going to have mine changed out also. Too hard for me to align in low light.
I ordered the tool to looks like a great design huh? :cheers2:

I would go ahead and get the super tuck rather than the mini. I can use mine for any size 1911 3", 4" and full size 5".
OK you and the others before above have convinced me it will be a super tuck at 4 oclock but i am going to get a Snap Slide from him too. :tiphat:

gringop wrote:Understand that with those 400 rounds you are over halfway to changing your recoil spring. I shot a Kimber Compact for a few years, thinking the spring replacement interval was like a full sized gun. One cracked slide later, after talking to Kimber about a replacement, I fully understood that 700 rounds was the replacement interval for a good reason.

After that, when I was shooting my ProCarry on regular basis, I changed recoil springs religiously.

I know your gun is a 3.5" and mine are 4" but the same principle applies. Short barreled, high slide velocity 1911s need strong springs.

Gringop
OK...i did not know that. The owners manual said "For proper break in shoot 400 to 500 rounds,230 gr FMJ, cleaning every 100 to 150 "
So thats what i was doing i guess breaking it in.The barrels is a lot more shinney inside.
How hard is it to take the double recoil spring apart if you get new springs?

The 12 were from my two box's of the good stuff...6 each just to make sure it liked the HP stuff OK.Also tryed out the stock magazine,
3 of the Kim Pro tac mags and 3 of the Wilson combat 8 round mags from a long 1911 i have.Zero issues and shoots great,
the kick is less then the LCP .380 which is hard to believe. Not hard on ya at all.

Embalmo wrote:I'm intrigued! Little gun, big bullets, CT, good trigger; you must report on accuracy and recoil (compared to LCP). I'm guessing it'll be a lot more accurate with that 1911 style trigger and the recoil will will be comparable if not a little lighter. Am I right to assume 3X the price of an LCP with CT? I think I might need to add this to the list of guns that I don't really need, I can't afford, but I want.

$980 plus tax.... :rules:

Got A New Gun

We had a gun show here today and i had been considering another carry gun...i been carrying my LCP.Well i am looking around and kept seeing the
Kimber Ultra carry II...awesome but expensive..especially our gun show prices. So i go by the local gun shop i use mostly and he had one...way
cheaper then the gun show..Kimber Crimson Trace Ultra Carry II..45 ACP. Bought it.I am headed to the indoor range tomorrow to ring it out.
I guess i will get a super tuck for it and left hand middle of the back with it. Need to find extra mags to Kimber Tac-mags somethings.
