Re: MI: About 1/6 CHL holders are women
They may not be Yankees by some definitions but they are by mine. 1. They supplied troops to the North in the War of Northern Aggression. 2. They live way north of the Mason-Dixon 3. They have a weird accent. 1+2+3= Yankee :coolgleamA: Actually they are Mid-West by definition. My wife is from Michi...

Re: Racetrack Definition
Is anyone else worried about instructors who don't know the law? It seems there's a recent uptick. No offense to the OP or other instructors, and I give credit to those who try to find out the answers, but I worry that DPS isn't doing a good job teaching new instructors. I'm worried about someone w...

Re: Need advice from hunters
I've spent my life hunting, from the Texas Hill Country where I grew up on a ranch to Mexico, and from Texas to Alaska. I know the lever action 30-30 has been around...well almost for ever, but I would personally vote against it. I know it's killed a lot of game but in my life I believe I've seen mo...

Re: Carrying at DFW Gun Shows....
I've gotta say I'm a bit amused by all this continued discussion about carrying at gun shows. To me it's just as simple as follow their rules or don't go, I choose the latter...end of discussion.

I think you're about to get lots of advice against carrying into the buildings. Sometimes what you read online just ain't so.Abcz wrote:Everything that i'm seeing online is saying that I can carry into the buildings.

Is there a list somewhere of the bills he vetoed? In particular I'm interested in the bill making portions of the Brazos River off limits to airboats. It passed the House and Senate and I'm wondering if he'll sign or not or veto. Looks like you're good to go. http://governor.state.tx.us/news/veto/1...

Re: Fort Worth Gun Show - reviews?
I've been to the Fort Worth show more than any other one. . . here's my current review: - 30.06 signs posted, even though it is a government-owned building. They hire off-duty police officers to secure checked firearms, so carry at your own risk. I won't go anymore solely based on this. The CHL com...

And that really surprised me that he did...It's not that I'm for more laws but if we had to have another one I don't think it'd be a bad one to have. I don't think there's any question that it would have saved peoples lives who'll get run over by the texters.

Re: WTS: Browning Citori Superposed
Superposed is another word for over-under. I wasn't aware that it's a brand name. It is a Browning Citori. You're exactly right TLE. Browning started calling his Over and Unders, "Superposed" back in 1931 and it has stuck to this day. Citori came along after they weren't manufactured in B...

Re: Master Masons?
I pretty much share your exact sentiments TAM. I asked one of my Great Uncles on my 21st birthday how I could become a Mason, he just happened to have a petition in his pocket. Went through the three degrees of the Blue Lodge early in 1967, followed by York Rite then Scottish Rite, then Shriners. I ...

Re: Kahr CW9 FTE x2
If not the ammunition, and not a timing issue, the next place to look is an out of spec barrel. The Kahr barrels are designed to handle any and all (+P included) SAAMI spec ammunition, but is is always possible a bad barrel slipped through the process. I have a CW9 that's had a little more than 1k ...

Re: Kahr CW9 FTE x2
If the ammo is factory stuff, I wouldn't be looking at it as the most likely issue. If it's reloads, the reverse is true. Remember that some folks will put reloads back in original factory boxes, so the packaging many not mean anything. He buys the ammo for both of us but he don't go to gun shows a...

Re: Kahr CW9 FTE x2
It's too much of a coincidence that it's happening with the last round in the magazine each time. Check the gun to make sure its fully in battery (slide fully locked closed) on each round for a while. Out of specification ammo is the most likely cause, although not the only one. Although it is unli...
