Re: PSC road construction
I would point out Charles' question, and ask another... If you have been shooting there for 30 years now without paying dues, isn't it A) a little rude to criticize; and B) also about time you either ponied up the money to join so that you have earned to right to complain, or shoot somewhere else if you find it so disturbing?
The world loves a complainer. Especially one who isn't paying for the service he's complaining about.
I don't belong to PSC because I live 350 miles away. But I do belong to the Dallas Pistol Club, and I am happy to invite guests to shoot with me on occasion. My guests don't pay admission because my dues cover them, although they are certainly free to make a contribution to the facility's maintenance if they want to, and I'm sure it would be gratefully received. It is a dirt road into the facility and I get dust on my car. Sometimes, the road is a bit muddy and I'll get a little mud splashed on it. But at all times, it gets my car dirty, and I don't complain about it — even though I pay for the membership — because I care more about my dues being used to keep the shooting bays open and functional more than I do about getting a little dust or mud on my car. If one of my guests were to grip at me about it, I'd tell 'em that they can always pay to shoot somewhere else if it bothers them that much.

I've ponied. Less than some, more than a lot.

Re: PSC road construction
I have been a member for about 15 years. Before that I went with other members as a guest.

Re: PSC road construction
I am a member and I have been for about 15 years. And I don't go that often, probably less than 10 times a year. I usually only go when my truck is already dirty. Or if I get a new gun and just have to shoot it. I don't claim to know what PSC's budget is, if the money is not there it's not there, I understand that. I think I just had my hopes up when I thought they were fixin the road.

Re: PSC road construction
Maybe so. Dues are not real cheap now. I can't really see what it was that they did to it. I thought even if they only oiled it it should have cut out the dust but it's as bad as ever. I'm not even sure they can even still oil a road, they must have done something else to it.

Yeah I do like that gate. Be careful though and don't pull up too close to it coming out, it swings toward you.

Re: PSC road construction
Sorry, I guess it just frustrates me because it seems like I'm the only one bothered by it. I'll just suck it up and accept that every trip to the range is a trip to the car wash.

Re: PSC road construction
I guess I need to give it a chance but so far the new road to PSC is not too impressive. Inside the range is even worse. That could be a first class range someday if you didn't have to off road to get to it. I realize that possibly the average gun guy doesn't care what his vehicle looks like.. I have been going to PSC for over 30 years with other members and it has always been the same mess.
