I find this very interesting and somewhat disturbing to say the least. I think that this report should make us all pause and remember just how dangerous these types can be.

The only problem I have with this report is their claim that these 'bangers' are practicing approx. twice a month. I suspect that is based solely on interviews with the 'bangers' and I doubt seriously that they are being truthful about that.

I don't doubt that they occasionally do some shooting in the back yard or in the woods, but I just can't believe that they are plinking 23 times a year. I would be willing to bet that the actual number is more like 3 times a year. It's my experience that these types don't prepare for anything in "proper" manner. That is, they may have lots of guns and ammo but it's doubtful that they have ever cleaned these guns and may not even know how to field strip them.

I realize that there are a few 'bangers' that probably do practice quite a bit, but the vast majority don't. IMO

Now, this doesn't mean that I don't take the threat that they pose seriously. Or that I wouldn't maintain condition red in their presence. I do believe that most of them would pull the trigger without regard to the consequences.
