Re: Refer to folks with CHL as Peacekeepers

I would like to see all folks that hold a Concealed Handgun License refered to as a "Peacekeeper". We help maintain the peace. The name helps generate trust with the public instead of suspicion of lawlessness. What do you think? Fireball Like the others I'm not a PeaceKeeper. The name doe...

I see no evidence or proof of this story. ....<snip>.... +1 Almost nothing about this story rings true. IMHO. It's not help they are keeping out it's looters and gawkers and others that have no legitimate reason to be there. As for picking up guns off the ground where houses used to be, well I find...

I'm of the opinion that many of the non-compliant signs I've seen around are posted just to placate soccer mommies and other clueless individuals - CHL holders know (or ought to know!) what constitutes a compliant sign, and by posting a non-compliant sign, businesses have made the decision to not e...

You will not be allowed to bring a loaded weapon into the show. There will be a table at the entrance with several FW police officers. If you wish to bring in a gun for any reason you will have to allow them to check it and then secure it with plastic ties.

From what I saw this is clear cut. The (ex)cop was way out of line. He needs to be arrested and charged, then he needs to lose his job.

Would anyone feel comfortable with a guy like this on patrol in your town??

CHL + Address requirment!

I know that you are required to put the physical address of your place of residence on your CHL, but can you then have a p.o. box as your primary mailing address???

I couldn't find this on the DPS website... hope I didn't overlook it.

TIA

....<snip>.... The 5th Circuit Emerson ruling (originating in Texas) also held that RKBA is an individual right, but sadly they held that this "right" is subject to "reasonable restrictions", and returned the case to lower court. IANAL I'm not happy about the reasonalble restric...

FFL Questions

I have been considering getting a FFL but I have a few questions. 1. Generally speaking, how long does it take from Application to FFL in hand?? 2. Can an FFL ship gun to himself? (ie.. lives in Tx, buys a gun in Fl...then ships to Tx.) I have posted this on another forum, for those of you that may ...

Well, Rep. Alma Allen felt that allowing CHL holders to keep their weapon in the car while at work would open the door to actually driving to work with the weapon in the car. It took several stabs at explaining that they already can drive with it before she 'had no further questions' :???: ...

I find this very interesting and somewhat disturbing to say the least. I think that this report should make us all pause and remember just how dangerous these types can be. The only problem I have with this report is their claim that these 'bangers' are practicing approx. twice a month. I suspect th...

Commercial property has never enjoyed the same level of private property rights as does non-commercial property. ...<snip>... IANAL This makes sense to me, not sure how the courts would feel about it. I am not sure that we should offer the same rights to a business as we do to an individual, and it...
