First LEO encounter since the plastic came in the mail

Got pulled over by a gentleman on 290 westbound before Brenham. Rolled down the window, exchanged introductions, handed him my cards, he asked if I was carrying, what it was, if it was loaded, said, and I quote, "Cool," and gave me a warning for no front license plate. Fastest side of the road experience I've ever had.

My buddy, on the other hand, told me of his first LEO encounter on his way from Georgetown Airport to his place in Round Rock. They flew down to Mustang Island for the day, embibing in their favorite beverages (well, all but the pilot from what I was told). They enjoyed a nice day at a tarball-free beach, flew back to Georgetown, and loaded all the stuff in the car and headed for the house. Well, my buddy was sober, but the others in the car weren't (I know these people). He got pulled over, and he explained his scenario, but left empty beer boxes in the car. The officer gave him the 20 questions, and ended up letting him off, but with a stern warning. He said the officer didn't seem to respect said CHL too much.

All in all, good first experience for me, can't say much for him. All in all, thanks for keeping our roads safe, but how about we focus more on those people who insist on riding in the left lane all day long doing well under the limit, soccer moms texting and driving two lanes at once, or people who don't know what that lever is on the left side of their steering columns, and not so much on the front license plate crew... </rant> (didn't see that one coming, HTMLers, did ya?)
