when I saw the title, I thought this thread was going to be about older pump action shotguns that fired each time you pumped it as long as you kept the trigger held down. I guess it is a similar action.

True, but it should help muffle the BANG!

Always make sure the muzzle is pointed away from anything of much importance, especially when releasing the slide. I try to direct the muzzle downward and close to something like a couch or something.
