I'll agree a jury and judge MIGHT see it as justifiable based on the law.... and I'll opine, they may very well not... Is a person on the other side of the door a threat? I guess my thought is...
It's not as cut and dried as some will have you believe... and keeping a good 10-20 or more feet away from the door with a good line of sight, and waiting to KNOW who is coming through the doorway before engaging is, IMHO a better plan, and more likely to get you no billed from a Grand Jury, or acquitted from a jury of your peers.
At the end of the day there is no RIGHT or perfect answer for a one size fits all... We can what if it to death...... IF I had a BG at the back door coming in and a "person" kicking in the front door...... I'd likely agree with a shooting though the door deal.. Hit the BG in the house first, and then drop the person at the front door.
