Re: March 2010 Applications
I guess the fates are with me: Application Completed - license issued or certificate active is my status as of this morning.
I REALLY thought my fingerprints would be rejected, but obviously my understanding of what comprises a passable fingerprint is not up to par (luckily for me)!

Re: March 2010 Applications
Mine changed to "Processing Application" this morning, exactly 14 days after they received it in Austin.

Re: March 2010 Applications
I appreciate you posting this! It looks like your application arrived in Austin on the 4th, and went into processing on the 17th, meaning that there is currently about a 13-day gap between their receiving the paperwork and their beginning to process it.Citizen J wrote: I called DPS this morning and I have been approved. They said that I should receive my license in the mail in a week. Status on website still has me as being processed.
Took class - 2/27/10
Mailed app. - 3/01/10
Received - 3/04/10
Processing app. - 3/17/10
Approved - 3/29/10
Waiting on plastic.........
I mailed mine on March 15th, and they received it on the 17th. That means that mine ought to change to "Processing Application" tomorrow or the next day.
I've already been checking the status every day (several times), but my status change isn't overdue for another day or two. That's a relief, I'm not behind!

Re: March 2010 Applications
There is a section on the application where you have to put city, state, and county. The fingerprint card is where (I was told) that you only have to put the 2-letter abbreviation of the state you were born in.heeler wrote:I hope he's right Vic.
In the paper work that came with the application it states in place of birth the city, state, and county.
And as I said getting all that info in that tiny box was NOT easy.
Sloppy at best.
I applied online, so I didn't have to deal with the paper application. The instructions you have may indeed say to put all that on the fingerprint cards as well as on the application.
The deputy that did the fingerprints for my class is the same deputy that does the fingerprints for all the classes at that facility, so I assume he would be correct. I don't think it hurts to put more than they need, as long as it is legible.

Re: March 2010 Applications
In my CHL class, the Sheriff's Deputy taking fingerprints told us to write the two-letter postal abbreviation of the state we were born in.
For me, that was "TX". That's all they told us to put in the P.O.B. box on the fingerprint cards.
