One of the things that have kept me away from it is the fact that the hammer WILL fall from the 1/4 cocked position if the trigger is pressed with the safety ON. I know that in true 1911 style you will probably carry "cocked and locked," but unlike a true 1911 the Sig and it's predecessor, the Colt Mustang, will allow the safety to be On in that position. I do not know if the hammer will fall with enough force to fire the weapon, but it concerned me enough to avoid it until I knew for sure. I'd sure like to know. Thanks

Thanks for testing it out. I shall now consider obtaining one :thumbs2:

dewayneward wrote:any advice on locating 1911 parts cheaply? I figure there are places with good supplies. I was checking out a crimson trace and the laser sights are almost as much as the gun!?!?!?!?! I do want to change the sights out (if I dont get the laser) and hope that wont be too hard...as well as the beavertail.

I brought 2 friends with me and now they want 1. That bug just keeps biting people :-)
Join the 1911 Forum. Every question you might have will be answered in spades. Great place to learn and share about JMB's great gun.

Don't take this the wrong way, as everyone has the right to have a gun they like, but those "grim reaper grips" won't win you any "Good Guy" awards from a Grand Jury in the event you actually have to use it, IMHO.
