Ah, recruiters. Never dealt with one. I was "recruited" by my "Uncle." Sam was his name. Sent me a nice letter that said, "Greeting" at the top. Very nice of him. Told me to "report" for a physical on a specific day, and bring my bags with me. Guess he wanted to make sure I would be "comfy." Within hours after the tests and physical, I was on a bus to Ft. Dix, NJ. Arrived in the pouring rain at midnight. But they fed us "chow." It was in an empty mess hall, with one large tub of SOS and one large tub of toast. Never saw that before. I asked the server what it was, and he said, "that's yer chow!" Wow, they said we'd get fed chow in the Army 3 times a day, so now I was really worried
