No, if it was a 1911, the rail never would have broken. However, it would have been back to the factory or gunsmith several times to "tweak the extractor," replace the slide stop, replace the grip safety with a beavertail to stop it from biting you, re-stake or reglue the plunger tube, and polish the feedramp to feed hollowpoints. But never for a broken rail. I love my Glocks and 1911's, but everything breaks at some point.
