I came up on my turn before I realized it and was going too fast to make it and for some reason, without thinking, I turned anyway and ended up going onto the wrong side of the road... While a cop was sitting in the turn lane of the road I was getting on.
I pulled into the gas station immediately and just waited for him. I think he may have called backup or something because he didn't come to my window until another police car showed up.
I'm glad I had the option to take defensive driving to get the charges dropped.
I ended up getting a warrant letter in the mail several weeks later because they forgot to enter it into the computer when I took care of it. After they pulled the file and saw it was all taken care of, I got several apologies in a row.
After I got my CHL, the only official interaction I've had with a police officer was when someone pulled out in front of me and totaled my car.
