Re: Drinking/Intoxicated clarified in Penal Code?
I may have missed this in all the OC/campus carry stuff - but was the existing code updated to clarify if you cannot drink or just cannot be intoxicated when concealed carrying? Bigity - To answer your question directly. No, the laws concerning drinking/intoxication were not changed. :tiphat: Bingo...

Re: Signs for the CHLer
Ran across this signage at a Softball Complex in Plano. I took this so that myself and others can continue to be well informed. My question is: what section are we looking for to see if CHL'ers can carry at this complex? I have not come across it yet, or perhaps I've missed it. Comment is the (4th)...

Re: Chl questions about my line of work
So I went through my chl class and am waiting for my plastic now, my instructor couldn't really answer my question and said there would be a lot of people here who know the answer... I do hotshot loads in my personal truck and personal trailer, now with my chl am I allowed to keep carrying my gun w...

Re: Signs for the CHLer
It was in regards to it being a city/government owned property. These signs are located within the complex itself, well after point of entry and no 30.06 seen. Thanks for the replies. The property ownership doesn't make any difference but the sign is irrelevant and also states it's not intended to ...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
I guess my issue is that 30.06 sign has nothing to do with it, it sounds like he's acknowledging that they're abusing the sign to coddle people so in the end, they're still going at it the wrong way. If someone is armed and needs to secure in a restricted area, they deal with that. A 30.06 sign used...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
I just edited to change proper to improper 30.06. I agree, for those no familiar with the laws, they might be confused. Either way, the top is posted all over the place and shouldn't be confusing or foreign, and the bottom just doesn't cut the mustard. Although I've never figured out how to actually...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
Someone's trying to save space by combining 2 signs on a home made sign vs the TABC provided and required sign and a improper 30.06.
You know what they say about cutting corners to save a buck...........
I assume it's a grocery store, small local place?
BTW, it's not relevant to this thread though.

Re: Open carry in vehicles
It's not splitting hairs at all. As soon as you get in the car and take the gun off of your person, regardless of how it was worn/carried, you're no longer talking about carry, you're talking about storage in the car and everything changes. No matter what, it must be out of plain view. That's why th...

Re: Open carry in vehicles
Argghhhh..... the text in SB17 addresses carrying in a vehicle: "SECTION 45. Section 46.02(a-1), Penal Code, is amended to read as follows: (a-1) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a motor vehicle...

Re: Open carry in vehicles
This sill doesn't make sense. It's about carry, not storage. Storage has nothing to do with concealed or open carry. The requirements for keeping a handgun out of plain sight in a car apply to anyone with a handgun in a car, not just CHL holders. Open or concealed carry in a car is no different than...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
Austin city hall is posted. They hold court some times and have the whole building posted everyday regardless if there is court that day or not. A court or building with space used as a court is a prohibited place regardless of 30.06 so if Austin City Hall is posted, it's for no effective reason. T...
