Re: Lost CHL-time to replace?

Sorry this happened to you. Yours is a good case to have a license from another state locked away so you can still carry while waiting on TXDPS to get your replacement. I guess you can use the MPA in the mean time. I could have sworn once you have a CHL you carry as a CHL holder and not under the M...

Lost CHL-time to replace?

My wallet was stolen almost a month ago, and I am still waiting on a new one. Tomorrow will be EXACTLY 4 weeks that I reported it stolen. How long does it usually take to get a replacement? I'm beginning to to think it was lost in the mail or something because it only took 17 days to process and rec...

Re: Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

Sewere_Ice, I don't understand your statement, "The officer I dealt with was very professional, however demeaning towards me,". Please clarify. He was professional in how he approached the situation, however he was demeaning towards me when he insulted my knowledge of CHL laws, when in fa...

Re: Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

I'm going to write a letter/contact the head of department so NEXT TIME I have my gun in my car, I'm not targeted. The officer took note of my car, etc. I'm sure they will find some bull excuse to pull me over again. Just having the Texas CHL handbook in my car, clearly stating what the law is, does...

Re: Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

Every officer will run into a CHL some point in the career, you'd figure a CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER would know how that applies to his special jurisdiction. Does this guy know something I don't? I'm going to write a letter, I'll post it on here. The officer I dealt with was very professional, however d...

Re: Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

With a CHL you should be fine legally with gun in your car (IANAL). But school likely prohibits students/staff to do this via expulsions, job termination etc. However if you DON'T have a Texas CHL then you are violating Federal gun free school zone laws. Also I think there are some obscure Texas Ed...

Re: Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

I forgot to mention, another cruiser pulled up while he was running everything, 2 officers exited. I was thinking for a second, "Am I getting arrested or something?" That's usually what it means when another cruiser pulls up, most departments require 2 officers for an arrest to be made. Th...

Re: Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

Now, I may be in the wrong here, but even if you don't have a CHL in Texas, can't you have your handgun in your car (glove box) per state law? I know there was a case in Amarillo (I think) where a High school student had a handgun in his car a few years ago, he was expelled but his attorney got it t...

Run in with UNT Police, whose ignorant?

Got pulled over by an officer- going 30 in a 20 on campus. Here's the short version. For the first time during a traffic stop, the officer has me exit the car to get my firearm. After waiting around for him to run my license and stuff, he comes back. He ask how well I know the concealed handgun lice...

Re: TCC Tennis match

Turns out practice was @ tarrant county college. Match is at richland tennis center. Saw a gun free zone sign driving in, which we all know doesn't apply if you have that states liscense, and stay out of building. Not a school sponsored event btw. Per letter of the law I am legal, question is will a...

TCC Tennis match

Not a professional or collegiate tennis match. My mother is playing a tournament there this afternoon, whole family is going. The exact law says that the school is a prohibited PREMISES, where premises is building or portion of building. It is outdoors, there is NO SCHOOL in session on Fridays. And ...

Re: Modern Art Museum fort worth

Yet another place that puts no weapons in their policy... morons. Can I bring my sword? What about my bow-staff? Crossbow.

I don't understand the purpose in places HAVING to list that under prohibited items, as if it stops anyone.

Modern Art Museum fort worth

Anyone know if they post 30.06? I have to do an art project for class I'd rather not have to go downtown and leave my gun in my car. Their website says no firearms (why is beyond me), but thats obviously not 30.06. http://www.themodern.org/info.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return ...

Re: Another "magazine salesman"

<--- 3 year veteran of door to door sales. NEVER trust a magazines salesmen. I recruited A LOT OF THEM. Long story short, the ones that were scamming, didn't find out that the magazines never arrived until MONTHS after working there. Some quit the job after finding out, others were in dire need of s...
