I've also wanted to post some sort of sign, but don't want to discourage the kids on my street from selling cookies and things like that for church and school (and Girl Scouts!). I'm afraid that they would be the only ones to observe a sign if I posted it.
I don't even open the door to adults I don't know. Doing so is a safety hazard. I tell them I'm not intersted through the window and leave it at that.
