Re: A travel question
Thank you all for the replies. Can any of our San Antonio area members recommend a good route around San Antonio? Also, some good fuel stops through Castroville that are easily accessible with a truck and trailer? I might have missed it but I did not see your trip destination or starting point. Fro...

Re: A travel question
Powerboatr, If it's just you and the dog, and you're traveling during the daytime, you are likely okay at the i-10 rest stops in Alabama and Mississippi. Just keep your head on the swivel. We have stopped at rest stops as a family on the way to and from Disney, and there are lots of families and obv...

A travel question
I have a question that is a bit different, but I know many of you travel. My family and I like to travel with our truck and travel trailer. It is usually all of us. I have taken one trip with just myself and my children, but my husband towed us there, and my relatives and family friends were there i...

Re: I was "assaulted" today.
I'm sorry that happened to you, TAM. You showed a lot of restraint. I've observed, both in my profession and personally, that people will become aggressive with someone when they believe they can get away with it. He knew he was in a medical office, and he assumed that you were older and unable to c...

We don't venture through downtown much anymore, but we do drive through pulling a camper on our way to the hill country. It was very much on my mind as we traveled during the summer.

Re: Wearing a mask while LTC
I've been wearing a mask and carrying for almost a year now. I didn't really consider that this would be a problem.

It was almost 15 years ago. I remember doing the Wally Walk. I was so nervous.

Re: Private property (mine and neighbors)
I own some property (about 100 acres) in Burleson County that has a small lake on it. The lake is completely surrounded by the land and the land is fenced. I have stocked the lake and maintain the weeds. The local teenagers think it is ok to crawl through the fence and go fishing there. I have came...

Re: Private property (mine and neighbors)
I never have considered contacting the game warden about this. That might be a better idea.

Re: Private property (mine and neighbors)
If you want to have fun with the police, remember that the fish are privately owned. Taking them without permission is theft. You have to put a value on each fish, base on the costs of buying and raising them. The local police should be more interested when you tell them you want to charge them wit...

Re: Situational Awareness--Not Always Easy
It's easy to get lax with situational awareness, but it's key. I'm reminded every time a student or friend from church approaches me in public without my first spotting them that I probably wasn't practicing situational awareness very well.

Private property (mine and neighbors)
My 12 neighbors and I share a 30 acre private lake. We are all considered joint owners of the lake. Per our restrictions, we may have guests, but they must use the host family's own watercraft (no gas motors) which has to be marked with the family's house number. Guests must enter the lake through t...
