They're polymer-based, and knowing who is behind the work (Virgil Tripp), I'd trust them 100%. That seems pretty reasonable to me for what is a relatively low production item. And, Tripp Research, the manufacturers of Cobra Mags, does offer other all steel followers of a more traditional design for the same price. But since these are the ones that they include in their very high quality magazines, there must be a reason for that since price does not appear to be an issue.
