Re: Kel-tec Sub2000 9mm gen 2
I had the same issue. I had to switch to a different set of muffs that are very low profile. It seems to be the most common complaint, and that's the cheek position on the buffer tube while shooting. It can be a bit uncomfortable.

Cool! Or should I say, Tacti-cool! Thanks.maverick2076 wrote:Tacticool products make some great accessories for the Sub2K that make it even more enjoyable.Scott in Houston wrote:Umm…. just shot it. I am in love with this little gun. (EDIT: Rifle… my dad drilled into me that this is a rifle, not a gun!)
It was about sighted in perfect out of the box. It's dead on at 15 yards and maybe 1.5" high at 25 yards. I wasn't able to bench shoot it, but that's what I gathered after about 300 rounds.
I shot 100 WWB and 200 Federal all FMJ, no issues from the included magazine (pmag?) and the Glock 17 magazine.
No hiccups.
This will now live in work/computer bag. Now I won't feel quite as upset when entering a 30.06 (non-46.03) location. Woohoo
I walk through the tunnels downtown a lot, and there are a couple of buildings posted 30.06… Well, now no issues. I just wish I could get it as quickly as I can a G19 out of a holster, but it's the next best thing.
Fun little rifle!!!

My barrel was very dirty. I didn't fully clean it though. I just ran a few patches down. I'll give it a good bath after I fire it.rotor wrote:I haven't had a chance to fire the new one I got yet but I did clean it. Was your barrel pretty dirty on the first clean before you test fired? Mine sure was and I assume that it was from factory testing. My PMAG also looked like it had been fired. I plan on using Glock mags. Glad yours worked so well.

Re: Kel-tec Sub2000 9mm gen 2
Nice report. I hope to shoot it tomorrow. Family is going out without me tonight, so I'm going to take it apart, clean it, and learn how it operates a bit better.loscar141 wrote:Like I said its nothing overt. And I never would of notice until my mom pointed it out to me...Yes she liked guns, nothing makes her more happy then shooting her .357 four inch s&w I just thought I was being too passive at the counter.
Sorry. I feel like I getting off track.
I went to the range today, memorial shooting center, a great place to shoot, to shoot my sub2k put 200 rd of Winchester white box 115grains and 2 boxes of perfecta and 1 box of Remington umc jhp 50 rds, and my 33 rd Glock factory mag, 2 promag 33 rd mags and 2 g17 magpul mags
The gun performed flawless no malfunction at all. I even shot some of the hollow points with no problems.
The only mag I would trust for home defense is the Glock factory mag and the magpul 17 rd mags. The promag while they work with no problems in the gun when I went to unload them by hand the mag follower would get stuck and not come up to next round. Maybe the recoil of the gun cause it to knock loose while I was shooting. But not comfortable with it when dealing with a home defense situation. But did a mag dump with all mags no issues there. Sights are on point. All in all its a keeper
After the last round, does the bolt stay to the rear or does it close allowing you to dry fire? Just curious.

Totally agree. I love Academy.loscar141 wrote:No problem I just don't like it when i see people jacking up the price on something, cause its a little hard to find.Scott in Houston wrote: Same…. paid $429 plus tax. Bought a Glock 17 magazine too (they only had one or I would have bought more.)
The magazine included with the Sub 2000 is garbage! It's not even heavy enough to fall out when you hit the mag release.
I can't wait to shoot it. I need to clean it first then take to the range hopefully this weekend.
Thanks for the tip on checking Academy!!!
that's the same reason i don't care to support small bushiness, unless they have good deals. Academy may be more expensive or not, on their merchandise, but they are consistent,
like these last couple of months, glocks 9mm were hard to find, and the prices went up everywhere, academy stayed the same when they did have them.
My daughter does their ads too, so we are biased.

Re: Kel-tec Sub2000 9mm gen 2
I just spoke to the wrong person I guess.loscar141 wrote:Yeah. for some reason they don't have them on their website, but i guess for best results go into the store, you know how gun counters can get busy.maverick2076 wrote:I know that isn't true. I bought my PMR 30 at Academy. Also saw a KSG at one.Scott in Houston wrote:I called Academy and they don't have it in their system at all, anywhere. I have been looking for a sub2000 9mm for awhile now. I been to gun shows, looked online, and a bunch of gun shops around Houston.
And yes, while I have seen them, there have always been 2 problems, they are .40cal or cost more then I am willing to pay from 500 to 599.
That was until i walked into academy today. I saw one on the rack, so I asked to see it and was pleased to see it was 9mm.
What pleased me even more was the price, only $430. I bought it right away.
So if your looking for sub2000 9mm gen 2, for under MSRP. try academy.
Ask the sales rep. to look it up for you, they can tell which stores have them.
He said the only Keltec they have anywhere are pistol accessories.
Go to another Academy. He probably spelled Kel Tec wrong.
okay i just got off the phone with academy, on I10 and bunker hill and they have one I'm thinking about going to pick it up myself, get me another one.
they don't have on the rack because it was on hold for some one due to nic delay.
one more thing the sale person says that all the sub2000s are the glock17 9mm versions they don't sell the 40cal
Thanks for the heads up. I'll go to another Academy and have him ask around to the other stores.
Thanks everyone!

Strange… they don't list them on their web site and the employee couldn't find any in their system.
