A little googling, came across a marine forum that says he is 48 with 29 years service. I guess the Daily Mail editors background knowledge is a little thin on the US military...

Back on track...I think the world of Marines, but going to an unknown apartment complex to sell a gold necklace thru Craig's list was maybe not the best planning. Glad he had the cool and the smarts to recover.
I noticed that too and thought it was a bit odd but who knows...
He sure didn't look like he was 29 in any of the pics I could find on him but he sure was one big ol fella!

I don't know if its training our not but common sense certainly dictates that you do WHATEVER you need to to control bleeding and if that means going knuckle deep in yourself then so be it.
I've also heard of tampons being used on bullet wounds and have seen smaller, specifically designed ones used by ER's for nose bleeds...they call em, Rhino Rockets.
