My boss said that at the school his daughter attends, they have a volunteer school patrol program for parents. every day there are a group of parents who roam the schools making sure doors are closed properly, enforcing the safety rules, ensuring people have proper identification, etc. I think its an excellent idea even though these individuals are not armed. I do not have children so i dont know if this is a common thing at schools but the idea caught my attention.
