I've taken this route too. When buying online, I look for companies in AZ. Not that I'm voting against Texas with my dollars, just that AZ needs some love. It's the "helping a brother out" attitude.
I heard on a news show last night that 93% of the population agrees with AZ, but that statistic never makes the news. Maybe because it's a difficult statistic to defend. (who was polled, which demographic, etc).
Edited to correct a typo from 63% to 93%. Darn these small keyboards.
