I wish those that don't haggle would just put that in their ad. Just say "firm" after the price, so we know up front. Otherwise, expect people to offer less money.

You never know if the guy on the other end just wants rid of an item, or if he really needs it gone, and fast. If you can take some "NO!" responses when you make offers (you have to get used to a little rejection), there's nothing wrong with making an offer on anything. Even when told "NO!", I politely leave a name and number, because after a few weeks of sitting on an item, people will sometimes call you back. I don't take the approach of pointing out everything wrong with their item, I just say something like, "I think it may be worth close to what you're asking to someone, but here's what it's worth to me right here, right now." I haggle with gun dealers, furniture stores, electronics stores, and just about everything retail. If you talk to the right person in any given store, you CAN get money off. Hey, ten bucks is ten bucks, right?
