I already said what I said about that, but maybe she had closed up a bar where she worked. The time would be about right for that. Maybe she was visiting her sick mother. Maybe she had insomnia. I dunno.
There is no hour of the night when I wasn't in some place that was not prudent at some time in my life. However I am mean-looking and not the typical target of this type of crime.
Some things you need to get out of your system. Otherwise you end up in your 50s with a comb-over like Donald Trump, driving a red convertible, and generally looking like a fool.

Re: Galveston: Sexual assault on the Strand
Yeah, I guess I should move. Do they have crime in Corpus Christi or Brownsville? I haven't heard of any.

Galveston: Sexual assault on the Strand
In Galveston early Sunday a man alleged attempted to sexually assault a woman who was walking in the 2300 block of the Strand around 2:45 a.m.
The woman fought back, got away, and called the police.
Police subsequently arrested a 20-year-old Dickinson man and charged him with sexual assault. (Reading the story, he could also have been charged with robbery for the cell phone.)

While I don't advise being anywhere except at home or a secure workplace at that time of the morning, this is a prime night-life area in Galveston.
This incident highlights a phenomenon that bugs me: People from other places think Galveston is some kind of unfenced zoo where they can act worse than apes.
I hope it was good for him, because he is going to pay for it big-time.
