The "suspect" in this case was found no guilty by reason of insanity yesterday.
He will be sent for further evaluation and possibly institutionalized—the article doesn't say, but I think dangerous psych cases go to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

I'm not criticizing you (much, anyway ); but I have never understood why some details of a news story are considered newsworthy and others are not.
I don't know what difference it would make if the suspect had dropped out of U.T. or Sam Houston Institute of Technology, or whether he lived "near" River Oaks or in the Third Ward.
It's like news stories where they absolutely have to identify someone with a profession, such as unemployed former dog walker.
