I don't think so. From what I can tell, the incidents occurred hours apart and involved officers from different agencies.

In Valparaiso, Indiana, Wednesday, a reserve police officer reportedly shot himself in the leg while unloading his "gun" (presumably a sidearm) in his vehicle. He is expected to recover.

Also in Valparaiso early Wednesday morning, a police officer allegedly was involved in a vehicle crash and charged with drunk driving after leaving the sheriff's election victory party.
