Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum. I guess you must be in Galveston County or not far from The Arms Room.

Do you know anyone who's hiring electrical engineers other than the high-voltage kind? ;-)

Re: Introduce yourself

I found that page, but it does not define "senior citizen." I guess you have to go to Government Code §411.195, which does define it as 60 or older for this purpose.

Re: Introduce yourself

I tried to find the fee schedule yesterday, but I ran out of patience. The DPS site is not the best-organized one I've ever seen.

As I get into that age bracket, I find that "senior" discounts start at age 55 in some places. If I have to deal with arthritis and gray hair, I emphatically am going to save a few bucks where I can. ;-)

Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum.

If you're 65 or older the license fee is reduced to $70, and some instructors offer "senior" discounts. It's liberating to have the plastic and not worry about whether you can carry a weapon near a school and all those other boogiemen. Also it's handy for other states that don't have the equivalent of our Motorist Protection Act (unlicensed car carry).

Your wife or the shotgun?

Answer carefully, because you don't get a second chance.

Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum, Bigdog1cr. I hope your application goes through quickly.

There are several forum members in the Santa Fe area, though I haven't seen them posting lately.

Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum, jdlott74, and good luck with your CHL.

You can find your federal and state representatives here:

http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It can literally depend upon which side of the street your house is on. Across the street from us is a different Texas Senate district.

Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum, Swan. I don't suppose you attend TAMUG?

If you use Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox, they have a built-in spelling checker that automatically checks everything you type. It's very handy.

Welcome to the forum, Sputz.

Re: Introduce yourself

They call it Brownsville because everything is brown. :smilelol5:

Nothing that I have seen in this lifetime looks like the northeast U.S. or England in terms of lush growth and rich green.

Re: Introduce yourself

OK. Thanks. You must be Texas State House of Representatives District 24, Larry Taylor. U.S. Congressional District 24 is in the DFW area.

Texas has its own beauty, but it doesn't have this:

Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum, Yankee Girl.

I'm having a mental disconnect. Texas House District 24 is in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, is it not?

You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your genes or your native language. Ask les pieds noirs.
