Buzz is exactly the right word. (I don't tend to think in marketing lingo.)
BTW, I failed to respond to one of your points:
Analysts can easily find that this book has been promoted on forums like this one, but the fact that it is purchased by however many thousands of individuals demonstrates the strength of the RKBA movement, just as packed gun shows and sales of firearms did last month.
Sometimes a few parties will purchase large quantities of books. That phenomenon is also noted, and it has ended a couple of political careers. That will not be the case here.

Re: Second Amendment Book Bomb
When a book becomes a best-seller, that fact is noted. Influential people think, talk, and write about it. Many people will buy a book simply because it is a best-seller (not so much with non-fiction, but consider what happened with A Brief History of Time). The subject of the book and the reasons for its popularity are elevated in public discussion.Abraham wrote:How does buying the book help promote the cause?
Of course the minds of fanatical opponents of the right to keep and bear arms will not be changed; but perhaps at the margins, millions of people will see the headlines and incorporate Dr. Halbrook's thesis into their vague thinking about the issue.

Re: Second Amendment Book Bomb
You can read several pages of the book here:

I have to say, I bought it to promote the cause. I already knew that the founders meant the right to keep and bear arms was exactly that, with none of the limitations that were added in the 20th century.
