Um, it's the other way around. His restaurant does not have a 30.06 posting, according to those who have gone there recently. He said on the air that he does not allow CHLs.
BTW, I've never known anyone who would not go to a place because it wasn't 30.06 posted. I'd venture to say that the vast majority of people who "don't like guns" know nothing about 30.06 or the other details of where CHL holders can and can't carry.

Can someone explain to me the difference between Edd Hendee saying on the radio that some of his customers are Very Important People that CHL holders must be kept away from, and Joaquin Jackson saying on an obscure TV show that "civilians" should have a 5-round magazine limit, or Jim Zumbo writing on his blog that hunters shouldn't use black rifles?

Seeing as fewer than 1% of the business in Texas are posted, and nearly all have insurance, it is certainly not common for insurance companies to require posting (if any do).
