Re: "I Carry A Badge" Leather Concealed Weapon Permit Holder

Hi Jestmaty, welcome to the forum. I don't think that is a bad idea. Where did you get that holder?

I asked him about it and he said "only certain individuals are issued them". I asked if that meant only those who did house calls, he responded "yes".

Has anyone else seen a "Geek Squad" badge?
Did he seem at all concerned about being arrested for impersonating a LEO? (Badge on belt) So what is the diffence if you choose to wear a CHL badge on your belt.

Re: "I Carry A Badge" Leather Concealed Weapon Permit Holder

How would you be impersonating a LEO when the badge says Concealed Weapon Permit not Police , Security Guard, Texas Ranger, US Marshal, detective, FBI or anything else that means you are LEO? It is just a piece of shinny tin inside a leather folder w/your CHL. It would be the same thing as carrying a piece of carboard wrapped in tinfoil with letters written on it in magic marker. "Don't shoot me!" It doesn't look like a police badge to me. All in all a night in jail is my preference to being "gone" forever in the dark place.

If Erik Scott would have had a "badge" on his belt he may still be alive. I don't think the "badge" concept is such a bad idea. You are not representing yourself as an LEO but as a LICENSED Concealed Weapon Carrier. A badge with your CHL in one spot doesn't sound so stupid to me now because of the Erik Scott incident. Anything you can do to keep LEO from opening fire on you is okay with me. Just a mere second of, oh wait, when seeing a "badge" could mean the difference between going to jail and going to the funeral home. If a LEO laughs at you cause you have a "badge" ask if he has heard of Erk Scott in LV. If they sell them at the gun shows - someone is buying them.
