Re: In search for a good First Aid course
One thing that I failed to mention - the first responder services are extremely good throughout Israel (...lots of practice) and response times are better than in the US for much of the country. My IFAK is hopefully not needed, but I will not go and stand watching someone bleed-out for lack of very ...

Re: In search for a good First Aid course
Keep hearing extremely good reviews of all of Caleb's at Lonestar Medic courses. Plan to take one in 2016. :txflag: Had hoped to take before late January (none currently scheduled) due to our travel to Israel and the West Bank areas, where stabbings and gunshots are unfortunately too common. Like oc...

Re: 05-October: MEDICAL Training/TFR Trauma First Response
I am interested in a future course (will be traveling during this October class) like this. I had taken a NOLS - Wilderness Medical Class (16-hours) a number of years ago, and it wasn't just the specifics covered during that class, which were excellent - it was the confidence gained that was very im...

Re: ammo on sale
Was completely shocked yesterday morning at WalMart - Park and Tollway in Plano! There were four, 50 rd boxes of PPU, 9mm, 115 gr, FMJ at $14.57/box! Bought two of them - just like the old days! It's a sad day when I can get excited about buying somewhat cheap Serbian ammo! It was also a happy day t...

Re: flashlights
I have EDC the Streamlight Stylus for years - good, relieable light for the small size. I have given probably six of them as gifts.texasmusic wrote:[ Image ]
Streamlight Stylus. Anything bigger and it would be left at home half the time.

Re: How Much ammo do you have on hand at home adn why?
usually around 10-12 thousand rounds each of 9, 40, 44, 45, 38, and 357. 8k rounds of 223 & 7.62, a thousand rounds each of other rifle calibers (7mm, 300wm, 25-06, 30-30, 30-06, etc). Of course, I'm an FFL and I sell it, does that count?: You sound like BlueBell Ice Cream "We shoot ...

Re: ammo on sale
Just got back from Cabela's in Allen. They had Herter's Select Grade Brass, 9mm 115 gr, FMJ, non-corrosive, boxer primed on sale for $10.99 box of 50 rds. I have previously shot one box of this and found it performed just fine - a little nosier and hotter (almost +P) than Federal, but clean and accu...

Good shooting this morning at Elm Fork
Been a long time since I shot at Elm Fork (members at TargetMaster). Wife and I met several friends and had a very good experience. Top notch Range Officers and overall solid operation. Would recommend it for anyone in the DFW area.

Somebody said that with the expired CHL and $3.75, I could get a medium Starbuck's latte!

Pulled over driving last Saturday
I have read the numerous accounts here about being pulled over for speeding - now I have my own story. Saturday afternoon I was stopped for speeding , 80 MHP in a 70 MPH. This was the first time that I had been stopped in probably 16 or so years (so I had a clean driving record - I'm sure that also ...

Anyone who carries a gun or knife as a defensive tool should have the knowledge and capability needed to manage the initial stages of penetrating wound treatment. This article provides a pretty good overview and may provide motivation to acquire more detailed knowledge or upgrade the equipment kept...

Guess there's no crime in Chicago
