When I was job hunting I worked part time at a retail store. The "theft-prevention" people would find all kinds of empty packaging throughout the store where someone stole stuff. Empty boxes on the shelves, things "swapped" out, parts missing off of displayed items.......just unbelievable.

Just last week I went to Office Max and puchased 6 ink cartridges for my photo printer. When checking out, one box looked opened and sure enough, a "used" cartridge was in it!!!! I'm sure someone purchased it and then returned it with the used cartridge!!!!

It was also an eye opener of how much of the theft was done by store employees. That's what your ammo swap sounds like to me.....an inside job.

It's sad to say but I make the store open the product (if it's within certain monetary limits) to see if indeed it looks new and not messed with, etc.
