Super congrats brewgawg! :clapping: That wasn't a long wait at all! :thumbs2:

No it was surprisingly fast. So how many of the December applicants are still waiting?

Re: December 2009 Applications

Have you checked Bullet trap? I got mine there and out the door it was about $580.
grumble wrote:Good news! :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

I need to *find* an XD9sub - Cabela's has them on sale starting today for $50 off (making price $469 for the std blk model), but of course i called them and they don't have any. Oh well, I really want night sights anyway.

Re: December 2009 Applications

Well, checked DPS today and the status has changed to Application Complete. So I guess it is time to shop for something to carry my XD9SC.

Re: December 2009 Applications

So I called DPS again this morning since I still have not received the letter from them. The guy I talked to said that the system showed that everything had been completed on the 25th and that my plastic should be here in a few weeks. So we will see. The site still says 'Processing Application', so I am not going to get my hopes up until it changes.

Yeah, I am just hoping the letter I requested from the Court is the one that is needed. I still have not received the letter from DPS explaining what is needed.

If you were arrested for the PI and fingerprinted, you'll need to get a certified document from the court that says they have no records of the incident. I had them give me a certified records search from the year before the incident to the current date. It just said "No records found." That was good enough for DPS as long as it isn't something that would disqualify you even if there were records.

Re: December 2009 Applications

Looks like mine is going to take a while longer. I got excited by all of y'alls recent approvals so I gave them a call. Supposedly a letter has been sent explaining that they need more info on a disposition. That is all the girl could tell me. So now I am waiting on the letter to find out what they are wanting.

Re: December 2009 Applications

I may have to go try out the range at Bass Pro, and want to check out Elm Fork on NW Hwy when it warms up a little. It is just a couple of blocks from the office.

Emailed DPS and got my PIN and after checking my status it is in the 'Processing' stage. Hopefully mine won't take too long, but birth outside of the U.S. (Army Base), several jobs over the last 5 years (Gotta love the IT industry and contract work), and several residences (Lubbock, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties) may extend mine.

Re: December 2009 Applications

Grumble, welcome home to Texas! :txflag:

I actually bought my XD9SC from The Bullet Trap, but I have never shot there. Normally go to the Winchester range in FW, and occasionally to DFW Gun Range.
grumble wrote:I typically shoot at The Bullet Trap in Plano. For members, it's a reasonable $7.99/day range fee. Non-members is significantly higher. Worth it for me to be a member, definitely at $100/year.

I've also heard that Bass Pro Shops north of DFW airport has a decent range, but have never been there. I've only been back in Texas for a month after an 18 year hiatus in New Jersey. Sure is good to be home. :txflag:

Re: December 2009 Applications

Sounds good. It is always more fun to hit the range with fellow shooters.
