TAM given the current price of gasoline wouldn't it be cheaper just to shoot them? In another year or 2 it may even be cheaper to shoot them than run them over using the gas in you car.Gas stations also present a handy self defense weapon: a gas pump. Give the guy a big squirt in the crotch or the face, and get out a lighter or match, and watch him run! Also, that gasoline won't be doing his private parts or his eyes any favors.
Also consider that once all of the pumps are fitted with the "Clean Air Act No-Fume Califorina Nozzles" that will disengage the pump if not properly sealed you are going to have to place the gas nozzle in the assailant's body such that the No-Fume Nozzle acquires a seal before you can pull the trigger. Man that is where it gets real interesting.
