Re: So my truck got broken into....
What exactly are you allowed to do if you catch some lowlife breaking into your vehicle? go read your book, but in general you're allowed to use force to defend property. Then the next section states that if you can use force then you can use deadly force. Some people will say you can only shoot at...

Re: So my truck got broken into....
Last week I helped HPD with parking lot inspection of cars. We gave out report cards and left on them each car, I would say 20-30 percent out of 2000 card failed, either windows down, packages visible or unlocked. BMV is up 600% this year in houston. Do not leave valuables visible, lock your door M...

So my truck got broken into....
Just another reason why I hate Houston. Think they got spooked because nothing was missing. Word to the wise get car safe! Now I get to spend money fixing what some lowlife broke. How I wish I wouldve caught him in the act and "demonstrated" my disapproval personally. Wouldve been the last...

Re: Sprinfield XD-40 review and range report
Yeah even though it's smaller than a glock sub it is a little heavier, but compared to my 1911 that I usually carry it's a blessing.jeeperbryan wrote:For some reason, I could never comfortably carry my XD. Awesome guns but seem to weigh a ton. So now I keep it in the nightstand :)

Re: High end 1911 debate...
I was hoping could give an opinion without getting flamed too bad.... I would suggest if money is an object that you get a GI model and put your own stuff in it. I've found it's cheaper and you have a little more personal input into what components your weapon has. But don't get me wrong, you're not...

Re: Sprinfield XD-40 review and range report
Been using my uncle mike's holster for my 1911. It works even though the barrel room on it obviously is too long. I'll get another one specifically for it tommorrow. Them things are comfy!

Re: Sprinfield XD-40 review and range report
Yep I picked 5 boxes of federal target ammo tonight. They had plenty more and it was less than 14 a box! Far cry from gander mtn. charging over 30 a box

All 40's are snappy.
But I had no trouble at all keeping on target and having quick follow up shots. My double taps were lightning quick because the gun stayed on target really good.

Sprinfield XD-40 review and range report
Got a new sub-compact yesterday because I was tired of the 1911, and the Sig is suffering some reliability problems. Figured some of you might like a little review before you spent some hard earned money. I like the trigger more than a Glock because it just seems a little smoother and less travel. T...

UH isn't a worry. I've already spoken with the PD. Actually were very helpful! Just said follow the state laws.

Quick clarification of school policy
I attended U of H regulary but I also take a course at a community college. I'm very versed in the laws for both long guns and my CHL, but as I was reading the policy for the community college I came across the section that discusses weapons carry. It states that no weapon is allowed on campus at al...
