How ironic is the thought that no guns are allowed at the Alamo?

It's very small print at the very bottom right hand corner. They are at every entrance. The sign says that CHL weapons must be checked at the Ranger's armory but when I went to do so, the Ranger said not to worry about it and keep it hidden.

Who owns the Alamo today?
The city of San Antonio owns the Alamo.

Hmmmm

Who Owns The Alamo?
The Alamo is owned by the State of Texas and operated by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Either way ...sounds like ... Non-compliant 30.06 sign on State or City Owned Property ...

Now if the sign was a compliant sign and there was a government "meeting" at the time I wouldn't carry, but otherwise I would carry with a non-compliant sign on State (or city) owned property not otherwise prohibited.
