The homeowner was the current or former landlord of Luis Angel Rivera, 41, who was shot to death, said Capt. Angelo Nieves, a sheriff's spokesman.
The shooter, who lives in the 200 block of 10th Avenue, told investigators Rivera rang his doorbell about 11:10 a.m., was armed with a knife and demanded money.
The homeowner fired a warning shot as Rivera went into the house and shot him again when Rivera would not stop, deputies said.

OCOEE, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a central Florida man shot and killed an intruder who tried to rob him at his home.
Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Angelo Nieves told the Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/NvWsyB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) the homeowner was either the current or former landlord of 41-year-old Luis Angel Rivera. Nieves says Rivera was armed with a knife when he rang the doorbell and demanded money at the Ocoee home Monday.
According to the Sheriff's office, the homeowner fired a warning shot as Rivera entered the home. He shot him again when Rivera didn't stop.
