------------
Prosecutors once believed Maurice Pierce was the mastermind behind the infamous 1991 slayings of those four girls at a north Austin I Can't Believe it's Yogurt.

On Dec. 6, 1991, there was a fire at that shop where four bodies were found inside: 17 year old, Jennifer Harbison, 15 year old, Sarah Harbison, 13 year old Amy Ayers, and 17 year old Eliza Thomas.

But Travis County DA Ronnie Earle said there was not enough evidence to convict Pierce. All charges against him were dropped.

Pierce did not stay out of trouble once charges were dropped for the yogurt shop murders.

In 2008, he was arrested, charged with assaulting a Plano police officer.
