1) He probably already saw that you were carrying .... the dog.
I wouldn't volunteer info like that to anyone, unless a LEO asks for ID, then you produce your ID and CHL and see if he asks.

3) you need another holster.
If you can't spring for a better one right now, look at the Desantis Tuck This 2, a nylon holster with a TIGHT J-clip, tight on the pants, plus hooks under the belt, cheap too, or any holster with better retention
Most any Clip-on type holsters can be improved if they are the type that the clips can go under a belt, by adding sticky Velcro hooks on the clip, and getting a Comp-Tac Velcro-lined belt.
