In my experience (I have shot 2, don't own one) and from the majority of reports I have read, the Carbon-15 is good to go.

I have the B.A.D. on 2 of my ARs, I would say you might have it installed incorrectly, but I don't think that is possible. The bolt catch should only engage when the lever is press in the upward direction. Is your Bushy a Carbon model? I have heard the lever does not work with the Carbon 15 because of a cut out in the upper reciever.
