I've shot a fair amount of shotguns, both pump and autoloader and never had any issues (yet) with shell ejection. didn't know if the safety or anything was more intended for a righty over a lefty on the Remingtons.

Well the price difference on the 870 vs 1100 is quite noticable, several hundred dollars.

I don't know if this makes a difference but I shoot lefty, always have. Right handed but left eye dominant, so I learned to shoot lefty at a young age.

May do a little skeet shooting, there's a real slim chance I could use it for duck hunting. It would see more use as a home defense shotgun and general target use at the range.

Which one of the two to get... and why?
