I've seen several Ford GT's in person... gorgeous cars, but they're still Fords
Once I get a house I'm planning on picking up a Lotus 7 or similar stripped-down toy (Caterham, Locost, anything like that). Ultimately I'd like a Lotus Elise. I have simple tastes... or maybe realistic. If I was "baller" status I'd go no lower than a Ferrari F430 Spyder, I just can't afford the upkeep on something like that. Heck, I'd have to save for a year just to change the tires!
The coolest "sports car" moment I've ever had was when I was heading to a skating rink a few years ago. I lived near La Grange (yes, the ZZ Top one) and drove pretty much F-M roads most of the way to Brenham, TX.
Well, I had just gotten my first true GT car, a 1986 Toyota Supra. I was having a blast playing on the curve, when I suddenly saw a flash of red off to my left. I flipped a U-turn and headed back, and in the parking lot of a tiny bed & breakfast near Round Top there were 18 Ferraris of various models and years, a Lamborghini and a Maserati. I was in hog heaven

I hung around for a while taking pictures.
It may not sound like much, but things like that are rare when you live in the sticks
