Re: Dec 26, 2021

This is the northern part of the country in Kurdistan, it's significantly different from the rest of the country. There's a section of the nearby city with a bunch of different non-Muslim places of worship.

Haven't seen a synagogue yet though. That's probably pushing it a little too much :smilelol5:

Wait! You just got back to the States. At least it seems like "just"; barely in front of the massive Afghanistan fiasco. Back in the sandbox already...
I have heard that contracting in the middle east pays very well. Had a friend once who did this for two years. He was a fireman in Forney. He was sending back 150K a year. Unfortunately for him it ended in his wife cheating and then divorcing him. After she blew all the money while he was away earning it. That was ten years ago when 150K was some very big money. I forget what he did over there but it was in Iraq.
Unfortunately that's a story I've heard over and over. And it's one of the reasons I'm single ;-)

And yeah, I had time to come home, move, and relax just a bit before heading back out here. The good news is that I'm in a friendly area now. I just saw a big Christian church with a cross on it today, something you'd never see in Afghanistan :cheers2:
