Re: do you like your m&p 15-22?

I've only had my 15-22 for a short time; one quick trip to the range, but it went through 60 rounds without a hiccup. I "pimped" it a little by adding a BSA RD30 Red Dot (freebie with gun), a Magpul AFG and a Hogue grip, plus a Midway soft case to carry it to the range. It's definitely an ...

Re: Which IWB holster do you use during the summer time?

I use the CB SuperTuck (horsehide) year 'round with a M&P 9c and occasionally a Don Hume IWB H715 when I switch to my S&W 642. Either is certainly more comfortable with an undershirt. I wear Under Armour 'Heat Gear' and have found that if I go to a larger size (XXL, when I normally would wea...

The only thing I can find wrong with Ms. Thomas' firing, or retirement, is that it should have happened years ago! :clapping:

Re: New to Carrying

Thanks TAM I saw that safe referenced in another post and you reminded me I need to check the clearance under my seat to see if it would work. :confused5 I bought one of those small safes and found that it would not fit under either the driver or the front passenger seat, probably because my car ha...

Re: IWB Holser Location

I have carried an M&P 9c in a horsehide SuperTuck for the past 4 1/2 months, usually in the 4 o'clock position, and I have found that it always need slight adjustment (back to front) depending on the pants I'm wearing. I've also discovered that it gets a whole lot more comfortable (less stiff) t...

[quote="Crossfire"]Here are the relevant sections of the penal code. Nothing has changed. This is not new. And question #38 on the test has been the same since at least 2000. Penal Code Section 46.035 : ( Penal Code Section 49.01 Thanks for the references, Crossfire. My CHL instructor didn...

Re: Veteran discount?

Does anyone know any gun dealers that give Veteran discounts? Guns, ammo, or accessories? Crossbreed Holsters gives a 10% discount to military (active, retired or reserve). MTAC Holsters gives a discount for active military only. Also, I read recently in a forum that S&W gives a military discou...

Do Not Forward - CHL

Does anyone know if DPS prints "Do Not Forward" on the envelopes that CHLs are mailed in?

I am out of town for a couple of weeks and had my mail forwarded to my daughter's home (Temporarily). My CHL has been issued and I'm hoping it will be forwarded to her address.

Re: August 2009 Applications

Veterans Day - Thanks to all servicemen and servicewomen (past and present) for your service. Be Safe!!! :patriot: And, thanks to Texas DPS. Although it's a national holiday, somebody down there took the time to update my application status. Today it reads: "Application Completed - license issu...

Re: August 2009 Applications

Sent an email to DPS today and received an answer five (that's 5) minutes later. Here's their answer: The license is being printed. You should receive the license within 1-2 weeks. Due to the heavy increase in applications, the process is taking longer than normal. Brighter days are ahead! :tiphat:

Re: August 2009 Applications

Thanks, Joe817. With the huge backlog DPS has had, I guess I shouldn't be getting so edgy. I only had one "infraction"; a "public drunkeness" charge in 1954 . But that was in North Carolina so they may be the ones dragging their feet. I suppose it might help if I called DPS, aske...
