Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 7,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen's organizations and publishers.
The NSSF puts on the Shot Show, the industry's trade show annually. I think you are misreading that line. The NSSF (and perhaps Sanetti) are located (ironically) in Newtown CT. The donation he made was TO the NSSF, not the town. I don't think there is anything nefarious going on here.
