It's not courage or lack thereof; it's fatigue. If I say "enough," I'm a racist. I'm tired of being labeled a racist, by racists, when I know very differently from the way I have lived my entire life—just as George Zimmerman has lived his—that I am NOT a racist. The same people who would call me that are the same people who voted for Obama, and therefore ALL of the absolute CRAP that has followed his election: the Benghazi debacle, the IRS debacle, the NSA debacle (see my references to republicans below too), the DHS morphing into the SS, the complete lack of transparency, accountability, and honesty from the left side of the aisle.......ALL of that. And ALL of that was utterly predictable because Obama's and the left's ideology just naturally produces it. Republicans are guilty too, but if we're going to talk of matters of degree, the republicans are pikers and the democrats are masters of it.

I am TIRED of all that crap. I do not believe that the nation can be salvaged at this point, and I believe that the racist left is a large part of what has pushed us over the edge.

I NO LONGER CARE. To anyone who voted for Obama or for a democrat, I say "it's your world, and welcome to it. Now go stew in the mess you've made of it."

It's not a matter of courage. It's that I no longer wish to be associated in any way, shape, or form, with people who are that base and crapulent..........and they run the country because they outnumber those who are not! Robert Bork had it right in the title of his book "Slouching Towards Gomorrah." I've been saying this about California since long before I moved away from there in 2006, and I continue to say it today, except that I now include the entire rest of the country in my indictment: "You are going to have to hit bottom before you make the decision to pull yourself up out of the mud." We have not hit bottom yet. We're not even close yet. It has to get a whole lot uglier before we hit bottom.

This is not what I want to happen; it is what I believe will happen, because people are simply not going to give up their "stinkin' thinkin'" until that thinking makes them crash and burn. They are quite literally addicted to their hatreds. What I want is for the insane to become sane. What I want is for those in denial to stop denying. To borrow a phrase from 12 step programs, "our best thinking is what got us here.........maybe it is time to stop thinking the way we've been thinking, and learn a different way."

A REAL good reset point would be to begin with what the Constitution actually says (or as pointedly, what it does not say) about the issues we face as a nation. But as long as more than half of the voters believe that the Constitution is an outdated and irrelevant document written by "a bunch of dead white guys," RACISM will continue to raise its ugly head under the false guise of a really crapulent form of "social justice."

I'm not only for letting them have their cake and eating it too, I'm for cramming that cake down their throats until their eyes bulge out, so that they'll never want any more of that particular cake again for the rest of their lives.

THAT is why I don't stand up and say "ENOUGH!" There can never be enough "ENOUGH" for the perpetrators until "enough" becomes "too much" and they have to vomit up all their vileness and confront the evil they have been perpetrating, and begin to feel a sense of shame. Without shame, there is no listening; and without listening, there is absolutely no chance that shouting "enough" will be heard by those that need to hear it.

Without shame, things never get better, they only get worse. I know of no earthly way to restore shame, so prayer is my refuge AND my weapon, and prayer doesn't require me to get all crazy and act up. Shouting "ENOUGH" at this point of our history is like spitting into the wind. It's a wasted effort, and it will just blow back on you.

In the meantime, I continue to prepare logistically for the long-term protection of and provision for my family to weather what is coming.

Do you?
If I say "enough," I'm a racist. I'm tired of being labeled a racist, by racists, when I know very differently from the way I have lived my entire life—just as George Zimmerman has lived his—that I am NOT a racist.
Well said TAM.

Early on in my last employment, we had one man come into the unit that was very racist and another man in the unit that used him to make others look bad to make himself look good (hope you can understand that).

The racist jerk homed in on a Black lady and two Hispanic guys to harass. He was constantly running to the supervisor criticizing these three and there was strong suspicion he sabotaged their work to make them look bad. The supervisor we had at the time took no action for his own reasons.

What these two employees were doing was wrong. They even tried to get me in there little game but I wouldn’t play. I finally had enough and stood up with the three that were being harassed and I came under harassment. We took legal action that caused upper level management to label us “trouble makers”. I knew when I took the position I did that I was killing my career.

The jerk was finally removed from the work unit, the supervisor transferred, and I never was promoted after that, even when I was the best qualified. I can live with that.

My point is, I could not stand by and let racism prevail even when I knew there would be consequences.

I guess I am not very smart because I will do it again if given the opportunity to fight this type of racism. I guess it's just the way I am.

KHOU

About 150 protesters unhappy with the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial marched Tuesday in downtown Houston.

After leaving the federal courthouse they moved on to Houston City Hall. At some intersections the protestors stopped traffic as officers looked on. Drivers were patient with the demonstrators. “We know how to stop traffic. We did it last night. Y’all help us,” one man said, referring to Monday night when hundreds of protestors took to the streets of Third Ward and blocked traffic on Highway 288.

Quanell X said the group will march on River Oaks Sunday because he calls it the Sanford, Florida of Houston.

Meanwhile, the Rev. Al Sharpton announced Tuesday that he will lead a national “Justice for Trayvon” day in 100 cities this weekend to press for federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.

When are people going to stand up and say enough? Is there anyone left that has the courage?

“The DOJ has also set up a public email address to take in tips on its civil rights investigation.” The Orlando Sentinel quoting Barbara Arnwine, president and executive director the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law “who earlier in the day joined calls for federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman”.

Unbelievable. Our government is completely out of control.

What makes you say he was “playing cop”? It appears to me he was just observing and reporting to the police. Is it possible that derogatory terms like “playing cop and Batman” are used to deride people that do the right thing by people that are afraid to?

Like Mr. Cotton, I have followed a few DWI’s while calling in the location to the police. I don’t think I was “playing cop” or “Batman”. I was doing what I could to keep the drunks from killing someone else and/or themselves.

What really troubles me is that no one is standing up and saying enough. People are persecuting Mr. Zimmerman and a lot of people know it is wrong but no one is willing to challenge them.

The NRA slammed holder for attacking “stand your ground” laws but where are the people that should be standing up against this political persecution?
I donated money to Zimmerman back on his original website. Should he end up in federal court, I will donate more. About the best way I know to "stand up for him", even if he is a Democrat.
Good on ya.

At James Coney Island taking advantage of their 90 cent coneys today. CNN is on their TV. It's Non stop TM. Apparently 100 protest marches are scheduled for this weekend. So be careful. The out rage is growing. Jesse Jackson wants Obama to speak to it. President Carter spoke, not sure what he said, but if I would guess it would be that the UN needs to open an investigation. Jesse has now decided that Z was over charged on purpose to get him off. He mentioned a woman in Florida who is black and got 20 years and did not kill anyone. This shows how the justice system is racist in Florida.

I identify with Z since we are both CHLs, homeowners, and concerned about crime. Thus I am biased. I tried to put on the other hat. This is what I came up with.

TM was unarmed. TM was legally allowed to be where he was. He was not doing or about to do any thing illegal. He may have been profiled by Z because of his clothes, walk, or possibly his race, not illegal but troubling if you fit that profile. TM may have initiated verbal contact to confront what he saw as a danger. So far no laws broken, something we could all agree with.

Then something happens, if your on the other side, which I'm trying to be on now.

Z hits TM and TM realizing he has only seconds to act, realizes he can reach Z before Z can get to his holstered gun. So TM springs and knocks down Z, landing on top, Z spends all his time trying to get his gun, screaming for help to alert his neighbors. TM try's to stop Z from reaching g his gun, and increasingly begins pummeling Z to knock him out, he fails and Z finally gets the gun. TM raises up to try and get away but Z fires one shot which passes through all important organs and dies heroically trying to save his life. Z puts him self together in the few minutes before police arrive and comes up with a story that this thug attacked him for no reason and fearing for his life shot him. The police seeing an urban dressed young black man and finding
no other evidence to the contrary, do not arrest him.

Imagine the situation if TM had gotten to the gun in this fight and had killed Z. Would not this be what he told the police.

To me Z explains if more logically. But I am biased.
Did GZ “show his gun in the holster, and says something like "I'm going to kill you"” before or after calling the police?

That is the problem I have with scenarios like this. I tend to believe that if he intended to do something along these lines, he would have never called 911.

REALLY?? Since when do we care about a thug that gets himself killed when he is attacking an innocent person?? I seem to remember hundreds of posts on this forum where everyone chimed in with "good, one less criminal" or some other expression of satisfaction that the good guy won.

What? This time it's different?? Baloney! Why is it any different than the hundreds of other thugs who meet their demise by way of a good citizen defending himself?

:tiphat:
:iagree:

Seems to me that justice has been served twice!
Justice may or may not have been served twice but Zimmerman should now hire a law firm whose job it is to hire other attorneys. He should have two or three hundred attorneys filing lawsuits against every news media, organization and individual that published or said anything prejudging him guilty.

When the main stream media, the new black panthers, the brady bunch, Al Sharpton and many others are forced to cough up a lot of money then justice will truly be done.

Zimmerman is the victim of political persecution. There is no way the man or his family can have any sort of normal life after this.

Even if justice is done in the court and he is found not guilty, there will be demonstrations and/or riots.

I look for the persecutor to threaten to go for the max penalty against his wife (five years and $5000.00) unless he pleads guilty to a lesser charge. This is the only way the persecutor and judge can get out of the situation they allowed themselves to get railroaded into. :mad5

Huh? :???: :???: What?   Where did that come from???????????

Did GZ or TM molest someone? Did this come from another thread? :confused5

I know I am old but am I “losing it”?? :willynilly:
This little side-foray talking about the accused father is not commentary on that particular case. Rather, it is commentary on the way the media report cases involving guns and/or self defense resulting in the death of an attacker. That is not only not peripheral to the Zimmerman/Martin affair, it is central to it. It is central exactly because the media are in the pockets of those who do not like the 2nd Amendment. Consequently it is nearly impossible to get a clear picture of what went on in the Zimmerman case.

So it actually is relevant to this thread.
It’s not just the Second Amendment. The mainstream media wants to control what people think about politics and everything else instead of publishing facts and information and letting people think.

A few newspaper owners could control public opinion since the invention of movable type and a few TV network owners could control public opinion since the invention of TV. They are losing much of that control now since the internet is so easily available.

Journalism has sunk so far into the gutter, I don’t think there is any place in the “profession” for someone with integrity. We will never see another Walter Cronkite or Edward R. Murrow.

Edited to add:
I think part of the problem is that now people want to be told what to believe. It’s easier than reading and now with mind numbing TV shows and video games, who has time to discuss things with others and think?
