Re: finally had to draw
luckily nothing happened, the LEO that arrived on scene asked for a description which i tried to give but didn't get a great look at but overall they didnt seem to care about me drawing my weapon, said i made the right move.
the 2 guys were long gone when LEO arrived, and did not say anything to me when i turned the laser on them, they said something to each other and mumble incoherently and left.
also i felt that something was off when they saw me, changed directions and made a beeline in my direction and failed to answer my calls, in that case i figured even if i was in the wrong the potential safety of myself and my gf was not worth second guessing myself
and yes i wish i had my 45 on me but i was wearing a tshirt that doesnt hide my 1911 or pm45 very well, also since it was a busy place id figured theres be squeezing through people and felt that a pocket pistol would be more appropriate for the situation

finally had to draw
this post should be dated on 4/23/10 instead of today, but Ive been busy and haven't been able to take the time and tell the story properly.
my gf and i were at The Fish in midtown 309 gray Houston, TX. we were out just hanging out with a few friends. finally my gf and i decided it was time to head on home, so we said our goodbyes and took our leave. we park about a block away on the side of one of the restaurants there. the lighting wasn't as good as i would have normally wished for but this spot was packed, so we had to park where ever we could find the room. so anyways, as we approached my car i noticed 2 people just hanging out in the shadow of the building which instantly put me on alert. i then shifted my gf to the opposite farthest away from the 2 people putting myself in the middle. the 2 guys took notice of us and started walking towards us. at this point everything in me was screaming that something was wrong. I reached into my pocket and was fingering my Keltec p32 with an arma laser attachment on it. I then asked very loudly what they needed, which they completely ignored. at this point they were about 10 yards away and i wasnt gonna take any more chances i pulled my gun and turned the laser on them going slowly up and down the torso of the closest would be attacker and asked them again what they needed. both men stopped dead in their tracks looked down at the laser raised both hands and retreated into the shadows and took off running the opposite direction. i then had my gf call the cops and got the story out and then went home.
my gf is usually an anti gun person, but i believe something good may have come from this experience
so thats my story, first time ive ever had to present my weapon in the year ive been carrying, and a reminder to all NEVER leave home without carrying if at all possible
