M1As are awesome! I have the Socom 16 and a Loaded in an EBR stock. If you go with a scout mount, it's a bit hard to find a correct optic that will work due to the very long eye relief.

I used a G-Code Holster and used a dremel tool to make a channel for the RMR. It's a level 3 retention holster
